National Digital Literacy Programme

At MOE’s Committee of Supply Debate in March 2020, MOE launched the National Digital Literacy Programme (NDLP) for our schools to help students strengthen their digital literacy. One of the components of the NDLP is the introduction of the Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) for all secondary school students, whereby every secondary school student will own a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD).

Personal Learning Device

Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) will truly transform the learning environment as it allows teachers and students to harness technology for greater effectiveness in teaching and learning. The use of the personal learning devices for teaching and learning will support the development of digital literacies in our students as well as develop them as self-directed and collaborative learners.

AISS has selected the ASUS Chromebook as its PLD offering for 2026. Despite its small size, it is feature packed with a responsive touchscreen and upgraded components like its Corning Gorilla Glass for the display, CPU, RAM and storage. With 4 years of warranty and insurance coverage, it offers superb value for money and will provide students with many good years of learning and productivity.

Important Actions For Parents

Parents/Guardians will receive a letter from our via Parents' Gateway or hardcopy with details about the purchase of PLD by mid January.

To proceed with the purchase of the school-prescribed PLD, please consent for the purchase and authorization to collect PLD via the Parents Gateway (PG) notification.

Parents who want to use Edusave funds for the PLD (for Singapore citizens students only), please submit the online Standing Order (SO) using the link sent in parent gateway, if you have not done so previously. If you are unable to submit the online form, please approach the school for assistance or to request for a hardcopy form.

Financial Assistance

Subsidies are available to students who require financial assistance. Singapore Citizens who are already on MOE FAS or School-based FAS will automatically qualify for these subsidies and do not need to take any action.

Permanent Residents (PR) and International Students (IS) who need support can approach General Office for assistance.

Technical Support & Service Centre Information

Technical support will be provided to students through:

• The School’s IT Team which is available from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm during school days.

• Assistance to collect and send the PLD for repair service with the vendor.

• Please check with school ICT Support team of availability of spare Chromebook to loan to affected students as there are limited quantity.

Note:

• Asus will only do a fortnightly collection of all faulty devices from our school. The estimated turn-around time is 4 weeks repair and return from collection date (subject to vendor's availability).
