Our Belief
The Ahmad Ibrahim Chinese Orchestra (AICO) brings together passionate and spirited individuals to perform melodious music, both within and beyond the school. It provides a platform for students to learn and master at least one musical instrument, while nurturing an appreciation for cultural music.
Guided by the belief in diligence and commitment, the orchestra aims to develop well-rounded individuals who are dedicated, resilient, and strive for excellence in their musical journey. Members are given opportunities to perform at various concerts throughout the year, as well as attend concerts by professional ensembles or orchestras.
Through their involvement, students build not only musical skills, but also important values and competencies such as responsibility, confidence, leadership, and perseverance. The Chinese Orchestra encourages every member to remain committed, embrace challenges, and reach their fullest potential.
Our Adventures
A key highlight for members of the Chinese Orchestra is their participation in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation (SYF AP), a national platform that provides students with the opportunity to showcase their musical artistry. Guided by dedicated instructors, the orchestra has consistently demonstrated excellence, earning the Certificate of Distinction at the 2021, 2023, and 2025 SYF AP.
AICO also remains actively involved in both school and community events. The orchestra performs regularly at celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Achievement Day, Racial Harmony Day, and National Day, contributing to the vibrancy of school life and fostering a strong sense of cultural appreciation within the community.
