Our Belief
At Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School, we believe that curiosity is the starting point of every scientific discovery and the foundation for lifelong learning.
Science is more than the acquisition of knowledge—it is a way of thinking, questioning and making informed decisions about the world around us. Guided by the Singapore Science Curriculum Framework, we cultivate the Spirit of Scientific Inquiry by engaging students in authentic learning experiences that develop scientific understanding, critical thinking and responsible decision-making. Through inquiry, collaboration and real-world problem solving, we nurture scientifically literate learners who demonstrate integrity, empathy and resilience. As students grow in confidence and competence, they embody our school mission of becoming Learners with Character, Leaders with Heart and Champions of Change, equipped to contribute meaningfully to an ever-changing world.
Our Approach
Our curriculum is anchored in the belief that students learn Science best when they actively investigate phenomena, construct understanding through evidence, and apply their learning to authentic contexts. Guided by the Spirit of Scientific Inquiry, our lessons integrate practical investigations, collaborative learning, technology-enhanced experiences and reflection to help students develop both scientific competence and the dispositions needed for lifelong learning.

Our Stretch Opportunities
STEM Enrichment and Applied Learning
Students participate in workshops, Applied Learning Modules (ApLM) and STEM enrichment activities that expose them to emerging technologies and interdisciplinary applications of Science. These programmes strengthen innovation, creativity and future-readiness.
Science Competitions and Olympiads
Students with a strong interest and aptitude in Science are encouraged to participate in competitions such as the Singapore Junior Science Olympiads and other STEM competitions like SISTEMIC and STEAMunity . These experiences challenge students to extend their scientific thinking while developing resilience, perseverance and confidence.
Learning Journeys and Interdisciplinary projects
Visits to Science Centre and research institutions enable students to connect classroom concepts with authentic scientific practice. Interdisciplinary project across Science, Geography and Math allow students to see the interconnectness between different disciplines. Through these experiences, students gain deeper insights into STEM careers and appreciate the relevance of Science in addressing real-world challenges.
Student Research and Innovation
Selected students undertake research and innovation projects such as ELEMENTZ that require them to investigate authentic problems, analyse evidence and communicate their findings. Through these experiences, students develop the confidence to think critically, collaborate effectively and apply scientific knowledge to create positive change within their communities.
